![]() Doug Rugh paints a portrait of Christopher Tufts while he reherses at the gallery.
Summer Party Mr. Tufts is from Barnstable, Massachusetts. He played as Javert, in Les Miserables (2003), and as the Bishop, of Jekyll and Hyde (2002) with All Cape Theatrical Productions. He sang chorus with Providence Opera in Cavalaria Rusticana (2006) and Cape Cod Opera in Tosca (2008). In the summer of 2007 he appeared on stage with the College Light Opera Company. In 2007 he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at the University of Rhode Island, where he was an active performer in ensembles such as Concert Choir and University Chorus and Lively Experiment. While at URI he also played Clarinet and Tuba in the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Clarinet Ensemble. Christopher sang with Franciscan Friars’ Church Choir in Providence, RI for one year as the Tenor Soloist. While at URI he studied voice with Mark Conley (2003-2007) and currently studies with John Murelle (2008-present). "I believe that music music and art are basic essentials to help us cope with the stress of day to day life, it allows the innermost secrets of emotion to come alive through our works. teaching music is one of many ways I can help bring this to the forfront of peoples lives, by teaching people how to be creative through music it gives them an outlet, allows them to succeed, and broadens their musical horizons.." |
