Considered at one point to be America's finest landscape painter, George Inness developed a very personal style of painting and continues to inspire artists today. Born in 1825, Inness was associated with the Barbizon School and the Tonalists. His late career paintings fused together his skill and a deep interest in theology culminating in a profoundly personal body of work. George Inness shows us there is more to life than what is right in front of our eyes.
