John Murelle, baritone, and Lucy Banner, pianist, have been sharing musical stages across Cape Cod and New England for years. As a duo, Banner and Murelle have focused their talents on the vast repertoire of German Lieder. In 2007 at the Yarmouthport Serenade Series, they performed Franz Schubert’s song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin. In the fall of 2008, Banner and Murelle prepared a vocal history of the development of Lieder from Mozart to Strauss, and were invited to present it Boston University. The program also was presented at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwich Port in January and later that spring in Stamford, Connecticut.
