A Working Artists' Studio

The oil painters Hillary Osborn and Doug Rugh are a husband and wife team who previously had studio space at the Cataumet Arts Center and now share gallery space at Queen's Buyway in Falmouth, MA. The gallery doubles as a working studio and the public is welcome to visit and watch landscape, still life and portrait paintings in progress and view recently completed works. Landscapes are created on location (not from photographs) and studio paintings are created from those paintings done in the field. Portrait sessions are done from life in the studio but the artist will also accept commissions from photographs when the subject isn't available for sittings. The artists believe that it is important for artists to work from life and on location to study nuances of the ever changing light with a practiced eye.

The public is welcome to visit Sunday morning from 9 - 11 when Doug Rugh is often painting from the portrait model.
